Spring Will Be A Little Late This Year

C print of an installation of cut wallpaper, arm chair and rug

Once a garish, mismatched, arrangement of domestic design, becomes a leveled scene by the removal of all printed material. The lack of pattern creates little distinction between materials, colors, and textures causing the contents to be both absent and present. A shared negative space galvanizes the once disparate elements and like a snow fall, everything is blanketed in sameness.

In addition, the floral pattern removed from the image's subject (the chair) is assembled into a small tapestry to pair with the chair as a positive and negative coupling.
